Dayton Hamvention 2007

This page is devoted to photos of the Dayton 2007 Hamvention, along with a few comments.

At Dayton this year, I helped Larry, N8LP, staff the Telepostinc booth. Larry made space available to me to show the Z90 panadapter and the new Z100 CW tuning aid.

Larry's LP-100 wattmeter was well received, with at least one person talking with Larry during the show. Larry and Janet are wearing yellow Telepostinc shirts.

I met a significant percentage of my domestic Z90 customers at Dayton—of about 25 domestic customers, nearly 25% stopped by to say hello.

(If I have mis-identified anyone's photo and name/callsign, please let me know!)

Raj, N2RD, a Z90 and Z100 owner stopped by to say hello.

Bill, NY9H, a Z90 owner.

Matt, KC0UKK, a Z90 owner.

Frank, N3ZPQ, a Z90 owner.

George,N2APB, a Z90 owner.

Roger, K8RS, a Z90 owner.

In addition to the Hamvention itself, I also attended parts of the "Four Days in May" events, put on by the QRP Amateur Radio Club International. I'm not a QRP operator, but I'm impressed with this group. A significant percentage of the club are homebrewers and that's something with which I identify. I'm likely to join to help promote more home construction.

The FDIM banquet was exceptionally well done, and pre-drawing the smaller prizes was an excellent idea. (I won a small prize, as a matter of fact. A toroid assortment from Kits and Parts. I donated a Z100 kit as a banquet prize as well.)

Part of the FDIM was a series of seminars, followed by a "Meet the Author" session.

I found Wes Hayward, W7ZOI, at the Meet the Author's event and had him sign my copy of his book, "Experimental Methods in RF Design."

If you have the slightest interest in building, or even understanding how radio equipment works, buy his book.

Wes is on the left and I'm on the right.

Wes's co-author, Rick Campbell, KK7B, was also in attendance and I have his signature as well.

I'm missing the third author, Bob Larkin, W7PUA's, signature, however.
